BREAKING NEWS: Gays Can Marry and the Earth Hasn’t Fallen Out of Its Orbit

gay marriage did not cause apocalypse such as asteroid heading toward earthWith the landmark decision by the Supreme Court of the United States legalizing gay marriage last Friday, June 26, 2015, one would think only celebrating and rejoicing would be heard throughout these 50 states, which are founded upon the principles of “liberty and justice for all”. However, one does not have to look far to see the glaring reminder of the right-wing religiosity that plagues American culture and politics.

The vile response by evangelicals and fundamentalists has been most prevalent on social media with an extra helping of crazy being bandied about in the news media. The past seven days have offered a shocking reminder at just how deep the fundies’ misguided hate runs in this country. Lifelong friends have been unfriending and blocking each other. Preachers have threatened to light themselves on fire. Businesses have posted “No Gays Allowed” signs on their doors. Narrow-minded troglodytes everywhere have shown their true colors amidst the “rainbowification” of the United States.

The one thing that has not happened is the earth imploding, or falling out of the sky, or hell freezing over, or some other catastrophic calamity causing the end of life as we know it — even with the religious right prognosticating that marriage equality would end life as we know it. In fact, everything looks pretty normal from here … and I’m in the Red State of Mississippi. The marriage equality ruling was blocked by Governor Bryant — whose son is gay! — and Attorney General Jim Hood, but the people demanded their equality — backed by the Supreme Court, and won. Things are looking good here as gay and lesbian couples have been getting their marriage licenses around the state.

Amazingly, the LGBT community and allies have taken the high-road amidst all the vehemence spewed by so-called Christians. Yet, real Christians, who actually live by Jesus’ teachings of love and tolerance, do count themselves amongst the allies, and hopefully, they will drown out the cacophony of the religious nuts’ anti-gay and anti-equality rhetoric that has filled the media since Friday.

Sure, it’s a balmy summer’s day, but not because of the predicted fire and brimstone.

Apocalypse, anyone? Not today.

Patreon is a new platform for artists who create content on a frequent basis, and I’ve got a brand new page at You’ve read my blog for a while now, probably listened to my radio show, interacted with me on Twitter and Facebook, and maybe even had one of your questions answered by me personally here on the blog, my radio show, or even YouTube.

I also record songs, voice readings, compose music, and teach lessons.

Now, you can support my work in a way that is super easy. You can choose to be a patron at $1/month, $3/month, $5/month, $10/month, or more. Check out the Rewards for each level, and just choose which one is right for you.

Hillary Clinton for POTUS: 2016 Presidential Campaign Will Be Dirty For Sure

Hillary Clinton for President 2016Hillary made it official. She is running for President of the United States. While I and many other women and liberal Democrats have waited for this moment for a long time, I can tell the 2016 political races are going to have a negative effect on media, culture, social media, and America, in general. For this reason, I vow not to participate in the negativity and the drivel.

Already, Hillary has had to field questions about how she will balance being POTUS and being a grandparent — a question no man has ever been asked when running for President (or any other office, for that matter). Critics have already started in on her hair, her makeup, her “new look” for the campaign — none of which has anything to do with her capabilities of running the United States of America.

When I ran for Congress in 2014, I was open about my status as a progressive liberal, bisexual, pagan, single mom in the very Red State of Mississippi. The Tea Party and right-wing Republicans around the country criticized everything about my physical appearance, from my eyes (“creepy”), to my nose (“needs a nose job”), to my weight (“a sad, pathetic overweight woman looking for attention”). I thought my stance as a progressive liberal, LGBT woman combined with my track record as an activist would make me the perfect candidate to fight for the people of my state. To many in my state and elsewhere, I was exactly what they feared in political office — a confident, capable woman who let it be known I would not tolerate oppressive institutionalized (male) bullshit.

Hillary can expect the same treatment, but on a much, much larger scale and exponentially more vicious.

Granted, Hillary has been in the public spotlight for decades and is probably accustomed to such treatment, but the fact that a female candidate’s appearance is even considered by the media and the voters speaks volumes about how far women still have to go in attaining equality on every level of our existence. In fact, the more a female candidate’s appearance is discussed, the more likely she is to lose her campaign for office. This all undermines Hillary’s decades of work for women and girls and her ability to be the Commander-in-Chief.

While it is easy to degrade the GOP (Teahadists, Tealiban, Right Wing Nut Jobs, Stupid Party, ammosexuals, etc.), contributing to the negativity will not help. Therefore, I will NOT post any political snark. I have personal knowledge of what the female candidate is going through. I know for whom I will vote and why, and I do not need to sink to the level of the other party.

“ArousedWoman Wednesday” on YouTube: “Facebook Still Bans Nipples While Supreme Court Slams Breastfeeding Moms”

YouTube - Trish Causey: ArousedWwoman Wednesday, 02-04-2015“ArousedWoman Wednesday’s” first installment is on YouTube!  Every Wednesday, I will bring a topic close to the heart of ArousedWoman to my YouTube channel.

In fact, each day of the week, I will talk about a different topic.  Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel to stay up to date on the goings-on.

For this first AW Wednesday, I share my recent experience of almost losing my Facebook account due to a nipple-pic I posted, and I rant about the ridiculous decision of the Supreme Court to side with a lower court that discriminates against breastfeeding moms.

Check out the video, share it widely to get the word out, and leave a comment on my YouTube page and/or here!

Take care!
